GROUPS

Ingleby Manor is an ideal and rare venue for larger groups to holiday together, who prefer the privacy of their own top-quality self-catering accommodation but who would like a large, interesting place for the whole party to get together for a meal or celebration.  The two-storey Tudor kitchen with oak beams, stud walls and enormous stone fireplaces can seat 20 comfortably or more for a buffet.  You can either prepare the food in your own accommodation or we can put you in touch with an excellent local caterer.  To make life easy for you, we set the tables, with flowers and candles as appropriate, and do the washing-up afterwards.  There is a small charge to cover heating, the use of china, glassware, cutlery etc. and cleaning.

We welcome walking groups (the Coast to Coast Walk, Lyke Wake Walk and Cleveland Way pass close by – see quotes from Millennium Walking Group), cycling groups (the Tour de Yorkshire and the Tour de France come through this challenging area), golfing parties (several golf courses close-by including Saltburn, up high and looking out to sea), and garden enthusiasts.  We have some wonderful, beautiful gardens about an hour’s distance including RHS Harlow Carr, Newby Hall, Castle Howard, Yorke House and Scampston, as well as many others who feature in the National Gardens Scheme.  Our own historic walled garden is a lovely setting for picnic or barbecue parties, or for Pimms on the lawn after the croquet.

The Manor can sleep 24 and The Old Kitchen can be reserved for special occasions. Manor Cottage and Courtyard Cottage can be joined to sleep 8.

 We do not host Weddings.
“This was our Group’s – all 22 of us – first stage of completing the Cleveland Way.  The grand kitchen provided a very comfortable place for us to gather in the evening and the local meals served to us were excellent.” Sept 2012
"We have just completed the Cleveland Way!  We managed to have the champagne at the end of the walk at Filey in dry, warm weather, thank goodness!  Beautiful house and a garden that suited tired feet and minds at the end of a long day ... and comfortable beds!"
