The East Wing of the Manor, sleeping five, is probably our most atmospheric property with the original 1540’s stone spiral staircase connecting the three floors. On the ground floor, the sitting room, once the housekeeper’s room, has an open fire and enormous linen cupboards.

The large kitchen has access from the main courtyard, and there is an internal door from the hallway into the rest of the Manor.

On the first floor, the landing area and single bedroom have original Tudor panelling, and there is also a king / twin bedroom (Please let us know if you would like the king size bed splitting into two singles) and large bathroom with shower and bath.

On the second floor, the Maids’ Rooms are now a self-contained suite with a twin bedroom and a bath/shower room. Being on the top floor, these rooms have amazing views east to the moors and Turkey Nab – the old Yorkshire name for grouse is wild turkeys. There used to be a gallows on Turkey Nab, and his Lordship was able to see that the sentence had been carried out without climbing the nearly 1000 foot- high hill, but they were removed, thank goodness, at the beginning of the twentieth century.

East Wing is not suitable for those with mobility problems and small children must be carefully supervised.

3-Night Short Breaks are available at 2/3 of the weekly rate (Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday nights or Saturday / Sunday / Monday nights)

Weekly Bookings for East Wing Front are Saturday to Saturday. Arrival Times not before 3pm Departure by 10am.


3-Night Short Breaks are bookable 7 days in advance at Easter, Early May Bank Holiday, Late May Bank Holiday, July and August, Christmas and New Year; 4 weeks in advance for the rest of the year when available. They are priced at two-thirds of the Weekly Rate.


Short Breaks are available Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights, or Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Heating, Electricity and Logs are included in the rental price.

EV Charging: £25 weekly charge for the use of EV charging.


DISCOUNTS: There is a 5% Discount for weekly bookings confirmed before Christmas. 5% discount for the second and subsequent weekly bookings in the same Summer Season.
